Forensic care is a type of care and support provided to people who are involved with the criminal justice system. It is the provision of care and support to people with mental health conditions, learning disabilities and/or autism, who are at risk of re-offending and/or have been discharged from secure care.
It can also include care for people who are at risk of offending or harming others and who cannot be treated in non-forensic settings. Our staff at Torkan Care are trained and experienced in the provision of care and support to individuals with learning disabilities or autism who have a forensic or offending background. Forensic care includes risk management, supervision and support in the community.
Benefits of forensic care and support include but not limited to improvement in mental health of the service users while reducing the risk of re-offending.
